Why this site exists
There are plenty of sites that count your clicks or draw a graph of your scroll wheel. Very few tell you what the result means, and almost none tell you how to fix the problem they just found.
That gap matters, because the faults these tests detect are overwhelmingly repairable. A switch that double clicks usually needs a drop of isopropyl alcohol, not a new mouse. A wheel that jumps usually needs compressed air. Being told only that your fault rate is 7% leaves you exactly where you started.
So every test here ends in a verdict and a ranked list of fixes, cheapest first. Replacing the hardware is always the last item, never the first.
How we approach accuracy
We publish our thresholds, our algorithms, and our limits on the methodology page. Where a browser genuinely cannot measure something — true input latency, exact polling rate at very high report rates, your sensor model — we say so on the page rather than presenting a confident number we cannot support.
This costs us nothing in usefulness, and it is the reason we would rather be cited by people who care about getting it right.
Privacy
Every test runs entirely in your browser. No measurement of your hardware is uploaded anywhere. Your personal best on the CPS test is stored locally in your own browser and clearing your browser data removes it. Full detail is on the privacy page.
How the site is funded
Advertising. The tools are free, and there is no account to create, no upsell, and no premium tier. Ads are deferred until the page is interactive so they do not slow down the tests, and we do not place them inside the test area where they would interfere with what you are measuring.
Corrections and contact
If a threshold looks wrong, a fix does not work, or a test misdiagnoses your hardware, we want to hear about it. Email contact@pchealthchecks.com and include your test result — a measured figure is far more useful than a description.
